Welcome to Mesón del Cantarero, a small highway restaurant that once catered for 30 guests and had a workforce of only four people. Located on the Madrid-Valencia road, the restaurant currently has a workforce of 20 full-time employees and 20 part-time employees.It is now equipped to host up to 400 guests at its facilities, in addition to offering a catering service for large banquets.

Mesón del Cantarero opened to the public on 8 December 1971 and has remained open up to now under the management of the Cantarero family. Its interior was designed just the way it remains to this day be Mr Jesús Campoamor Lecea.

Throughout these years, our visitors’ book has been signed by celebrities such as: Anthony Quinn, Antonio “el bailarin”, Lola Flores, Paco Rabal, Otero Besteiro, Pacheco, Rigoberta Menchú, Don Camilo José Cela, José Luis Perales, José Luis Coll, Forges, Rafael Farina, Bahamontes, Eduardo Rodrigo, Manuel Soto, Albano and Romina, Pedro Carrasco, Manu Leguineche, Chumy Chumez, Joaquín Sabina… We have also had the pleasure of having His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Borbón as one of our guests.

It was a small highway restaurant when it was founded located on the Madrid-Valencia road with a capacity of 30 guests and a workforce of 4 employees. The restaurant currently employees 20 full-time staff and 20 part-time staff.The restaurant’s facilities are equipped to house up to 500 guests, in addition to offering a catering service for large banquets.

The restaurant has a tent covered garden, where all kinds of events can be held (in the past we have hosted the Miss Spain Beauty Contest and a Regional Weddings Fair).

It is an ideal spot to hold a party after celebrating a banquet.It is fully air-conditioned and is equipped with a dance floor, spacious bar and comfortable armchairs for those who would prefer not to dance.

Our kitchen facilities measure 420 m2, have been totally refurbished and meet the strictest hygiene standards.They are equipped with refrigerated storage areas, a product delivery room, ovens and titanium hot plates.

The restaurant’s menu is full of regional dishes, in addition to having an ample offering of good meat dishes and selected fish. The restaurant’s home-made desserts are made on a daily basis, and the wine list has reserved a special place for the region’s wines.
